Chapter 2 Update

There was a small hiccup in Waddlefield’s update in December which I didn’t realize until it was too late. I completed the update on Dec 21, and uploaded it for review by Apple. While Apple was out of the office for about a week, the hope was that the update would be approved before the end the month. Updates seemed to be approved more quickly than new apps, so the hope wasn’t misplaced.

Starting on Dec 21, 2009, I left Germany to travel to the United States for three weeks. This is why it was essential that the update be submitted by Dec 21, because I wouldn’t have a chance to do anything about Waddlefield until I returned, Jan 11th.

Unfortunately, I found out that my worst fear came true. The update had not successfully been uploaded to Apple, and therefore wouldn’t be available for review during my vacation. I didn’t figure out what had happened until yesterday, when I returned home.

While the XCode of Waddlefield was successful, it had not been properly codesigned, something which the upload process does actually tell you, but I had failed to notice in the wee hours of Dec 21, after hours and hours of work and trying to pack for the airplane.

So, as of yesterday, this has been rectified and the proper codesigned build was submitted to Apple. Twelve hours later, it moves from Waiting for Review, to In Review, which is a great sign after this huge delay. I don’t want to jinx this, but Waddlefield, Chapter 2, could be available this week.
